It has been a long time since the Victorian Craft community has attended an in-person craft show and in July, hundreds of dedicated crafters from across Victoria are heading to the Vines Road Community Centre, in Geelong, to attend the 2-day exposition.
“We are excited to have crafter’s come together again to see new products, learn techniques and get together with like-minded crafters” says Michelle Brown, Creative Director of From Picture to Page. ”During the Lockdowns, we have successfully reached many of our crafters through our videos on Facebook and Youtube but it will be wonderful to return face-to-face craft shows again.”
The From Picture to Page and Beyond Papercraft Show is where you can learn more about planning, card making, scrapbooking, water colours, mixed media art and art journaling. The Geelong Craft Show will be held in the delightful Vines Road Community Centre with many craft retailers offering a range of activities and craft supplies to satisfy every level of crafter.
Activities include mini-classes where talented teachers lead you through a project, for a small fee and with materials and tools are supplied. These mini-classes run for about 30 minutes and are held across the weekend. There are also free demonstrations run by the retailers to encourage your creativity, showing you how to get the most out of your supplies and answer your crafting questions.
Craft brings joy to so many across Australia and From Picture to Page Papercrafts shows wants to help our crafters feel connected and less alone.
“Many of our crafters are living alone and have not felt like crafting during the Lockdowns ” says Michelle, “so to be able to come along to the craft show again will be just the therapy they need.”
Papercrafting is for all ages too, not just fun for the kids! And our crafters will be coming to Geelong from all across Victoria, so make a day of it. Refreshments and plenty of seating areas are available so you can rest and catch up with like-minded crafters over a cuppa and lunch.
All of this amazing crafting fun is happening at the Vines Road Community Centre on Saturday 23 July, 9am to 4pm and again on Sunday 24 July 10am to 3pm.
Entry is $12, and kids under 16 and reluctant partners have free entry.
